Managerleague Review

Managerleague is an online football manager game made by Fifth Season AS for people with and even without a interest for football world wide. If you want to start a team from scratch, and build a winner-team out of a low-division team, this will probably be the perfect game to stimulate your needs. The game contain 19 different national leagues, it’s translated into 16 languages and has passed 38,000 users! Managerleague is mainly free, but if you want to, you can use real money to buy credits that will give you advantages in the game.

At the very beginning you may get a bit dizzy about all the unknown player-names, the teams, the matches, the credits, the season, the rounds etcetera. But after checking a bit around, and maybe translating the game into your own language or reading the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), pieces will get gathered one after another.

The name of the players, aren’t really a big problem, since the game allows you to change the name of all players, if you want to. You can give your team the same name as your local team, and give the players your team-mates name, or make your dream-team by naming them after your international heroes. But not enough with that, you can also upload portraits of all your players. All this stuff is very positive things about the game!

Playing Managerleague without wondering about something would be almost impossible, but there is a very easy and fast answer at your problems, always. The Managerleague forum is an easy, but popular and quick way of getting answers on your questions, or discussing whatever you want. The stadium upgrades in the game are made very realistic, and simple. I’ve heard a lot of people complaining about stadium upgrades taking way to much time, but after all they’re just made realistic.

There are always a but, and one of them is that in Managerleague you are not allowed to borrow players from other clubs, this feature should get added. And which real club only uses their scout one time each season? And a team playing 250 friendlies during ONE season is not very realistic.

Appearance
The portal is pretty simple messy and untidy. The ocean of different colours that doesn’t match each other and the square design without any system make you want to look another way at once. But when you leave the portal, and enter the game, you finally get away from this inferno. The colours match, and the squares suddenly fit together way better. The background pictures are soft and politely to your eyes, and the information is placed tidy and readable, all this maybe a bit ruined by the untidy “Important Information”-part.

Introduction
Entering this game as your first time may get pretty hard, you have to look for everything, and there are hard to learn it all by your own. Of course, there are good guides and manuals, but they might be a bit hard to find for a beginner. But when you first find those guides, they are very good. Since I began playing this game in season 10, the forum and the manuals have been improved, and it's getting easier for new players to learn fast! Maybe there should be added a flash program that takes you through the basics of the game when you enter the game.

Game play
The matches in Managerleague just got upgraded, and they simply had to! Before, the most central part of the game was pretty boring when you just had to read your way through a match report. Now line after line with happenings appear at your screen in chronological order when you are playing a game, the games are exciting! Except of the matches most of the features are made easy, but ingenious.

Score: 2.5 out of 3

Fun
Managerleague is very funny when there are things to do, but that’s not often. Every day there are 2 matches, and 2 team-trainings. To check if your players gained any points and got better during the training, or to follow an exciting match is undeniable, but you really have to be patient to play this game.
