Progress update. (03/02/2009 15:00)


Hello everyone.

I think it's time for an update. It's probably way overdue too, and I hear.

Before I continue with the update, I would like to present you with this:



Ok. Not all that special, I know. I'll get to why it's there in a sec.

But first I would like to just let you know, that our update is going very well, and we're very happy with all the changes that are coming into the game. As some of you have discovered through the tiny little image I served you on the last update, we're going to make some visual changes in the game (although that's not all, more on that later). I'm happy to report that that work is well underway. A rather huge task, if I may say so, but we're on it, and it's going to look fitting to the century we're in.

Spinner is working hard to put all this together, and I'm making sure he's got enough new stuff to keep him busy for a while yet. We're very happy with the results we're getting, and in the end, it's you who get to play with it all and enjoy yourselves in the new ManagerLeague.

Now, let's get back to the image at the top.
That's old.
You've seen it a million times (especially if you play in division 1).

And it's going to retire when the update arrives.

And when it retires, it'll make way for this:



I won't say much about it.  Enjoy the preview.

1. Yes. There will be a clock.
2. Yes. There will be a season counter.

Looks very nice. 

I hope Spinner & co will work on some game play after this layout has been implemented. At least the transfer market and event system needs some work.

My personal views.

The Manager League is by far, the best online soccer management game (of course, you can't compare it with Football Manager 2009)... I am happy to hear that some new improvements will be added to the League.

The ability to bid online for my players against thousands of human-controlled teams really gives me lot of joy ... Great realism! You have to balance your book and look after your club finances, and raising monies to fund the new players ...

One area that I hope to see is the match gameplay. Often, you will see one team dominating a match, and you seldom can't see a team turning a half-time loss to a victory. I am in Division 5, maybe this is the trend for lower divisions. It would be nice if the League could collapse some Department - the fun will be enhanced if there are more human teams rather than AI. A Department with 1/3 filled by computer-controlled teams really dampen the enjoyment.   

Lastly, any chances of santa claus giving free fund & credits every 10 rounds :) Just a wild wish ...

it looks a lot more up2 date and while it is asthetically pleasing, it seems to have had things taken away instead of having new features added to it.

 

1: If you get a private message, you wouldn't know.

2: If somebody made an offer of 1 of your players, you wouldn't know untill u physically checked which is ok for people selling 10 player but for some1 selling just 1 player who not many will bid on it not good.

3: While waiting for a person to return a friendly set (sometimes you do need to wait a few minutes) you would have to keep reverting back to the friendlies page.

just one problem.... there must be a bug or something, because my current manager league is nothing like that one... i mean, it only says 16.000.000, instead of the 2 billion shown above....
