Today's hot topic is : League changes
Teams moving from league to league
it's okey, not okey? how can this be done? should it be done? ,what are the rules? ..
This subject has been of great controversy since the introduction of National Leagues many many seasons ago, and up until this day still is a debatable subject.
I decided to make this blog entry due to the discussion held in this thread: http://managerleague.com/ml/showthread.pl?thread_id=52427
This are the rules regarding moving of teams:
- Your team should play in the league that you belong. For example, i'm a norwegian, living in Norway, i should be playing in norwegian league
- Your team is from a country that doesn't have a league of it's own, you should play in the International league. For example i'm greek, living in Greece, but there isn't a greek league, so i should play in the International league
- Your team is from a country that doesn't have a league of it's own, but there is a league of a neighboor country or a country with whom you share a language, or customs. for example i'm from Chile, living in Chile, i can play in the international league or in the argentinean league, so goes for canadians playing in the USA or irish playing in England, and so on.
Exceptions and Important Data:
International league:
Is a "wild card" league, meaning that it's free for anybody to join. If you are from england, you can play in the english league or international. Anybody can play here, although is probably the best place for teams who doesn't have a league of their own and are waiting for their league to be created.
Remember that we encourage teams to play in the league that they truly belong, although international is free for all, we rather have players playing in their leagues (if they exist in our game) rather than going back to international. That's why many teams asking to go to international, if they are already playing in their league are mostly not allowed to do so. (it also helps avoiding teams hopping from one league to another, which is also a big No-No from our end)
"I'm moving to another country, what should i do?"
- If you are moving temporarily (a couple of months) due to a short-term work offer, or a brief travel abroad for studies, you should remain in the league that you belong and have been playing
- If you are moving permanently, or indefinitly due to a work offer, a years studying abroad, you should remaing in the league the you belong, your "mother" league, but after a time if you are adapting and thinking of becoming part of that country , you can request via SUPPORT a league change
- AT ANY TIME (probably in the near future) Fifth season can move or force move teams, in the best interest of the game, according to the situation and rules they see fit
Advantages of playing in your league:
- Rest assure you are playing in the fairest way, against teams in your equal chances
- Play against fellow countrymen, who understand your jokes, how you feel and all stuff in common
- Active department or forum activity, you can express in your own language about subject interesting to all
- People tend to feel unconfortable when they have an outsider and their own league, who can't even reply to their Private Messages in the league's language
- Another advantage is that you won't be forced moved in the near future by the staff, you will have adeveloped team in your league and won't waste time moving and promoting and stuff
- and many other you can think of...
Remember that anyone that abuses the system for their own advantages, or twist the rules to gain an unfair advantage, abusing their rights and the rules, can (and will) be punished by the staff
"I WANT TO MOVE, what should i do?"
If this is your case, you should contact SUPPORT asking them to move you, remember to be clear and state your reasons
The staff has the final word, they can approve your decition and let you move, or they can deny your petition, base on what they see fit according to every case.
Also remember that i, Stambros, am always at your services, and here to help every manager. Feel free to ask me by PM any help that you might need. including league changes if that's your case
Kind Regards
