My first season
Season 87 or Season 1 for me ... (07/05/2012 11:33)

                         TALE OF THE NOOB

Well Hi to anyone who reads this, this may or may not be my only entry but I have a moment and was a little bored.

It is approaching the end of season 87, last night was my last league match and I have only to play a department cup final match on wednesday.

I joined up coincidentally just after the end of season 86 and took over a team that lay in 3rd place

(and right now I am trying to find a way to put a link to my team but cant seem to work it out )

Well, ...... I am sure if you are reading this then you know how to click on my name to find it the "hard" way.

So, .... as you can ( or maybe couldnt be bothered) to see, I finished top of the league by a meagre but nevertheless comfortable 3 points, It seemed throughout the whole season only myself and Rudeelite were really active and it made for an exciting title race in a league with 50 percent bots.

I am pleased also to say that I have made the finalof the dept cup (against a bot!).

So the first season has given me a "present" with only one loss, which was due to conceding a penalty too , I have decided to share my absolutely miniscule experience with this game for any noobs like me.

I have a few things to recommend to a noob that I didnt find out immediately and as Ive never written any form of blog I shall just list them here for people to use.

Firstly there are two blogs that I found to be very informative and helpfull, One of which leads to the other and you probably have already seen them

SYLVESTER STALLONES BLOG                   www.managerleague.com/blogperma.pl

BRITISH BULLDOGS ML HELP GUIDE:         managerleague.com/blogperma.pl

As well as these links, I have a few final basic but usefull tips that helped me:

Sack any player with quality lower than 60 .... yes sack ... dont sell/transfer, nobody will buy them and they are useless to your squad, the exception is unless they are 30 31 yrs old, as the guides above mention they will be valuable to improve your youngsters.

Focus on stadium upgrading before worrying about buying players if you are interested in long term play (which I am, although I have had a great season and got promotion, my teams quality is not good enough to avoid immediate relegation next season).

Gain as many as the basic acheivements as you can for an early boost to your funds.

I never played players who had a fitness of less than 90, and tried to keep all of my players above 95 if possible, I have had zero injuries so far with this small tacic.

I have not bought credits yet and it took me a while to realize that you can play friendlies by joining "the queue" in the friendlies tab, these games are (apparently) vital for training your players, this is a tactic I have only dabbled with right now, dont forget to bear in mind your teams fitness and any upcoming games BEFORE choosing to play friendlies.

Use your free credits (you get 15 every season aswell as a few for the achievements) for training camps with lowest/cheapest settings EXCEPT for intensity, set that to extreme, yes it is expensive but I got good stat gains for my team from this.

Thats pretty much all Ive done to get through my first season,  hopefully somebody will find this usefull and has enjoyed my first brief blog entry.

Good luck to all you noobs, but remember, a division with a load of botts should be relatively easy without putting too much effort into this game, I didnt bother doing much for the first few rounds while I learned the ropes.

I am expecting a MUCH tougher second season!!
