Value of Attributes
This information gathered from ml-reports.com will tell you how much a certain attribute is worth to each individual player type,
making it easier to work out player Quality, The following infomation also has indicators of most important attribute

Things to remember
Note some attribute gains add no quality towards your player yet the player needs certain attributes to help with match ratings,
Stamina is important for your player to remain fit throughout the season as you will be able to play more friendly’s with more stamina,
All Players will need stamina to remain fit, avoid injury and to be able to perform for a longer duration during a match, (increased match rating)
Perception is important in both defenders and midfielders when it comes to set pieces, even though no quality gain is given, in defenders this will help with interceptions and forward passes, in midfielders perception helps with forward runs and the ability to win midfield headers.

Individual Player Training
Individual Player Training is more difficult to understand
each player has a star system on how fast they train up, but hard Facts on this subject have yet to be proven
obviously its better to have a player that is 5 star rated than to have a player with only 1 star
(you can get your scout to go scout certain players of your choice before you buy them)
There are other ways of helping ur players gain attributes
this takes much skill and time to achieve but it basically seems getting a good youth player and playing him alongside older much more experienced players is the best way of gaining player attributes
I personally believe buying older players with much higher quality than the youths you have
Improves the youth much faster than not having the older player in the squad at all maybe threefold
My tips for this area would be to buy a goal keeper defender midfielder and a striker with a quality rating 5 or 6 higher than the average quality of the team
having experienced players in each position and mixing good youths amongst them and playing as many friendly and custom cup match’s as possible
especially at the beginning of your ML career it would be the first thing i look for,
Normally players with greater quality are more expensive but older players lose their value vastly at the age of 31, although spinner is changing the drop in price this seaon coming (82) the only disadvantage is they retire at 34 – 40, tho they do train up your youth alot in their time at your club and your youths should surpass the quality level in that same period. Definatly worth the money.
Training Camps are obviously another good way of training players individual stats
Different positions need better values in certain skills, eg goalkeepers need good keeping stats, defenders need good tackling ability, midfielders need good passing ability and strikers need to have a good shot, this is obvious at first but training certain secondary attributes for all positions is vital, and often the best way to increase player quality
Also upgrading your Training ground in the stadium menu screen will increase player attributes for every upgrade
using all this information together will be the best way to get your players stats up faster than normal

Training Camps
Training Camps have to be booked in advance and can be found under the Team Training option, in the Training section of the Team tab,
camps cost money and two credits but are very important for individual training and team training.
There are 4 Training Camps which take place every Sunday at 18:00 game time (GMT -1)
There is also a 5th Camp at the end of league (last Wednesday of the league),
here is a brief overview of the training camp options to choose from. . . .
Location
- Domestic: Costs $100.000, morale gain: little/none.
- Abroad: Costs $1.000.000, morale gain: some.
- Exotic: Costs $3.000.000, morale gain: lots.
Accommodation
- 2 stars: Costs $500.000, fitness gain: 1 point.
- 3 stars: Costs $1.500.000, fitness gain: 3 point.
- 4 stars: Costs $2.500.000, fitness gain: 5 point.
- 5 stars: Costs $4.000.000, fitness gain: 7 point.
Intensity
- Leisure: Costs $100.000, player attribute gains: little/none.
- Normal: Costs $500.000, player attribute gains: some.
- High: Costs $1.000.000, player attribute gains: several
- Extreme: Costs $3.000.000, player attribute gains: lots. (Apparently)
-Important things to remember-
- Only ever pick a domestic location unless you need morale, say at the start of the league for example
- The accommodation isn’t worth the money if you have just started out on ML.
- Try to order high/extreme intensity if you can afford it there isn’t much point to a camp without it
my way of training in a camp would be to choose the following options . . .
Location Accomodation Intensity
1st camp of season, Exotic 3 m 2 stars 0.5m High 1m
Every other camp Domestic 0.2m 2 Stars 0.5m High 1m (at least)
players with fitness below 80 are classed as injured!
Injured players cannot play friendly’s
do not rest players on a booked training camp
. . . i have devised a table explaining how to achieve best fitness results . . .
Player Stamina Rest Value Auto Fitness 4 rest slots Totall rest value
John Smith 70 7 2 4 13
Jonny Smith 69 6 2 4 12
When you rest a player in team training the first digit of his stamina stat is what he receives in fitness gains,
so if he has 69 stamina he receives +6 fitness . if a player has 70 stamina he gains +7 fitness,
this is why its worthwhile to train the player with a 69 stamina stat until it reaches 70,
you can also select your team to rest in the training options
But i wouldn’t advise this as you will lose vital stats in the team training section,
The same applies when training Morale. U will lose much needed points on your training scope.

Team Training
Team training is a very important part of Manager League,
so if you are new here then maybe a more delicate explanation is needed.
Be sure to understand this next bit as it canhelp you build your basic team structure
First select the training option on the team tab. Here you will find list of individual player training,
forget the players for now, on the right hand side of this screen you will find your team training options.
Team stats are trained by selecting a particular box from the group of 12 boxes we’re calling Training Options
Example attacking, defending offside, throwing ect, the four boxes under these training options are the four training slots,
Stats currently being trained within the boxes are indicated by a Gold Star, listed above the training options mentioned above.
use these options wisely, switch them regularly but be cautious of using the Rest option. I have not included this option in the list
Although it restores your Fitness, 4 slots only regains 4 fitness the drop in important team stats makes this option a bad one.
There are other ways to keep your players fit in the game and your first team should be fit so only use if you have to.
Underneath the four training slot boxes is where the training camp information is based, ( 5 Camps a season)
again ignore this part of the menu as i will explain more after the basics have been coverd.
be sure to read this a few more times as you gain the game experience
as it will make more sense as you learn how the game works
These are the 11 Different Training options and their importance when playing a match.
Attacking 2
How well your team can attack
Defending 3
How well your team can defend
Counter Attacking 7
How well your team can counter
Offside 6
A high value is vital if your defenders plan to use the offside trap Tactic, again if left neglected will result in your attackers being caught offside when in on goal. Comes in handy for a formation with few defenders.
Throw-in 10
The ability to use throw-ins as an attacking or defensive option. Again do not neglect too much as it can keep possession within a match, if possession is lost a counter goal can be given away but obviously there are other more important options.
Freekick 9
The ability of taking and being able to defend freekicks. If you have a good midfielder with good perception passing and shot, this stat can produce goals, so try not to neglect even though other stats are more important. Try get at least 4 stars here, (71+)
Corner 8
The abilty of taking and defending Corners, for instance if u have a striker with good heading and perception, then using a player with good passing and perception for taking corners can also produce goals.
Penalty Kick 11
Composure under a penalty situation, applies to penalty taker and goalkeeper so can reduce keepers ability when saving penaltys.
Understanding 5
the understanding of your playing style. At first it might be wise to stick to your best formation until this stat is trained to at least 80. Then experiment with other playing styles as your team grows.
Teamplay 4
Team chemistry, with regards to team work when passing, running and reading each other ect.
Morale 1
The most important stat. Often makes the difference in the outcome of games.
Winning League games will improve Morale, whilst losing lose’s Morale.
The better the team is that you beat the better the increase in Morale
Morale is the only stat that gets reset to 50 during season change,
. Personally i would send the players on a Training camp abroad the first camp of the season.
The numbers Indicate my personal order of importance
1-5 are important and vital to all teams,
6 and 7 are variable depending on your tactics
8, 9, 10 and 11 are my personal order of importance
note: the Training Facility Upgrade will help improve team training and Individual training so upgrade it early for a head start on stats | Read the full entry |

Formational Info
A brief description on different formations, pointing out the strengths and weakness of each, and information on which tactical play style to use alongside them
5-4-1
This is a very defencive formation, but can also be very effective. The formation needs a good attacker up front to score the goals for you.
Your defence don't need to be the best since you have 5 defenders in the back line.
Playstyle: Continental should be the best one. Mixed can work, but not recommended. Longball is just plain stupidity.
Recommended use: Against teams with better average quality, where a draw would almost be the same as a victory for your team. Specially strong against formations with low amount of midfielders.
5-3-2
Concentrates a bit more on scoring goals, but is still a defensive formation. Watch out for teams with good midfield.
You might lose because you aint getting your midfielders into the game.
Playstyle: Mixed should work best for this formation, continental comes in second and longball works a bit better in this formation then in the 5-4-1.
Recommended use: Away matches where your opponent is about the same average Quality as you or at home against better teams then you.
4-5-1
Again a defensive formation.Compared to the 5-4-1 formation
This is more vulnerable to opponents playing longball or mixed because they play over your midfield so you will lose lots of defensive power.
Your defence needs to be stronger and your attacker still needs to be good.
Playstyle: Continental should be the best option. Mixed is not recommended as there is too many midfielders. Longball is not a option.
Recommended use: Against other managers playing continental with low amount of midfielders. Make sure that their attackers are not too good.
4-4-2
Most common formation used in the real life world today. It has good amounts of defenders, midfielders and attackers, making for a more balanced team.
Playstyle: All three playstyles work, but i would recommend mixed or continental a bit more then longball. Longball will just make your midfield weaker.
Recommended use: When you cant find any other formation that works well this is the one to use in most occasions. More rcommended against defensive formations (above formations) then attacking formations. Also good against teams with better overall quality than yours.
4-3-3
An attacking formation that concentrates on your play in front of the opponents. Vulnerable against teams with many midfielders.
Playstyle: Mixed and longball should be about the same. Continental is not recommended.
Recommended use: Can be used against any formation, but your decision of playstyle can be the reason why you either win or lose.
If you have low amount of good mifielders and many good attackers this could be the formation for you.
4-2-4
An all out attack formation that relies on getting more goals then your opponent. Very vulnerable against teams playing mixed or continental.
Playstyle: Longball is almost the only formation to recommend as the formation only contains 2 midfielders.
Mixed could also work but not recommended while continental should not be considered.
Recommended use: A large amount of good attackers is important for this formation. Also your defence and goalie needs to be excellent to win you matches.
3-6-1
This a an odd formation in my opinion, when thinking about real life. How would it actually be to play in a midfield as crowded as this one? Luckily this aint real life. Normally i would say a formation with only 3 defenders is an attacking formation, but this only contains 1 attacker so it can't be that attacking.
Playstyle: I can't see any other formation than continental working for this one.
Maybe mixed can work a little bit, but what is a lonely striker going to do with a longball?
Recommended use: Well, although not all formations with only 3 defenders are attacking
i would still recommend training up the offside-trap before using the formation. Never the less, it can still be used against teams playing mixed with a low rate of midifelders.
3-5-2
Yet again an attacking formation that needs excellent defenders to not let in too many goals.
Vulnerable against teams playing longball with many attackers. For instance 4-3-3.
Playstyle: I would prefer mixed in this formation. Continental is of course good as well because the amount of midfielders,
but since there's only 3 defenders they might get pushed by the attackers a bit much if playing continental
so a couple of longballs every now and then won't hurt.
Recommended use: It's a good idea to train your offside stat in the team training section,
playing the offside trap can help you a great deal with this formation.
3-4-3
This is a deadly attacking formation, when it works that is. The bad part is that your opponent can easily find ways to beat it.
I have yet to produce a win with this formation. On the other hand i produce a smile every time i see that my opponent either change to this formation with an event or use it from the start.
Playstyle: As i have no good experiences of my own with this formation i'm not to sure about the playstyle.
But from my knowledge about formations and tactics i would say that any playstyle can work in this formation. Continental probably the worst choice.
Recommended use: Choose another formation is my recommendation, but of course if it works good for you, why not keep at it.
Your defence need to be in very good shape compared to your opponent attackers. Also you goalie will probably get a lot to do.
Again, good offside stat in team training is your friend.
3-3-4
The last formation is again an all out attack formation, just like the 4-2-4 formation.
Remember that all these formation very vulnerable in defence so pick them with caution, not just pick to try. There are smarter offensive formations to choose.
Playstyle: Longball is the best playstyle again, while mixed should work a bit better with this formation.
Continental is again to dig yourself 7 feet under with this formation.
Recommended use: Against other all out attack formation and you got the best average quality this could be a choice.
In other situations than that i wouldn't recommend to use such a formation.

Tactic’s
One of the most basic of strategy's here on ML is to view your oppents tactic's and Counter them as best you can,
this can be done by clicking a link to ur opponents team and viewing thier previous fixtures,
most of the time managers will use thier bset possible line up which will always be the same,
view thier last few match's and take note of the tactics used, then use the following table to judge what formation you will use to counter,
use these against teams with higher Q than your own, but be aware your team will be less effective if your Understanding team training stat is fairly low,
Personally i would use your regular and strongest team setup untill your Understanding is at least 80
General Tips
- Longballs beat continental, mixed beats longball and continental beats mixed.
- Dont use high pressure if your opponents attackers is much faster than your defenders.
- If you play with just one playstyle, your team will get better at that playstyle, but worse in the others.
- 4-4-2 is good against defensive formations
- 4-3-3 is bad against formations with lots of midfielders
- Longballs works well with many attackers, like in a 4-3-3 formation.

For everyone reading as far low as this.
These Formations/Tactics are just suggestions to get the upper hand, they are ofcourse not a given win!
There is a good possibility to win with the opposite of these advices, but then there are other factors wich comes to play
